Volkswagen retains passenger market leadership
Total new passenger car sales in January increased by 7 per cent when compared to December last year, but were 34.4 per cent down on January 2008. The January 2009 market yielded the lowest number of new passenger car sales in the month of January in eight years.

The first round of the Engen Volkswagen Cup single-make series got underway on a rather unique note at Aldo Scribante Raceway in Port Elizabeth on Saturday 7 March 2009. The defending champion, Jared Mortimer (1) and his Formsfit Printing / Liquid Lounge Polo started race one at the front of the grid.
